Donations

I know, and any of my customers will tell you, nursing necklaces work! They help many moms to breastfeed more easily and in many cases longer. I believe strongly in them, and would love for every mother who needs one to be able to have one. If you need a necklace and do not feel you can afford one, please email me. Depending on your circumstances we may be able to barter, or you can get a necklace donated to you.

If you are ordering something from me and can afford to donate an extra few dollars to help other moms, just add the amount you would like to donate to your payment. If you are not ordering, and would like to make a donation, you can send a check or money order to:

Jan's Story

I am a 52 year old mother of 6 biological children. I am married to my doctor-husband and we live in the Pacific Northwest. My oldest child is 30 and my youngest is 15. We began fostering babies in 2000.I have always loved babies and it is a stage of development that I am very comfortable with. I feel this is a gift that my Creator has bestowed on me and that using my gift to help others became important to me once my own children were raised. In our area, there is a pressing need for care for special needs babies, or as many of them are, medically fragile babies. With a doctor in the house we were immediately approached to specialize our care. Their special needs have included alcohol effects, drug effects, cranio-facial deformities and the aftermath of shaken baby syndrome. In January we welcomed out 15th baby into our home. Most stay a few months some only a few weeks. Usually we only have one baby, but on occasion (ok, 4 occasions) we have taken in 2 babies who needed us. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to give these little ones a good start in life, and the joy far outweighs the discomfort of sleepless nights and fussy babies. Sometimes it is very hard...and I feel taxed beyond my strength, but then I pray a little harder and I take a month or so off between babies, and soon, I am refreshed and ready to move forward to the next little person who needs me. Our current baby is almost 4 weeks old and is a pretty little girl with a lot of black hair. She is growing and changing daily and we got our first little smile last Wednesday.

I donate a nursing necklace to each of Jan's foster babies so they will have something with their name on it to take with them when they go to their adoptive parents.

Dear Lori,

I just wanted to thank you so much for the absolutely wonderful necklace you made for Logan and I! It's beautiful and I love it! My little munchkin is trying his hardest to wean himself, but the necklace has enabled me to hang on to nursing a little longer.

Also, thank you so much for your generosity. I can't put into words how much you have helped me out in such a difficult time in my life by making that necklace for us. I will definitely be passing your link on to my pregnant friends! May the gods bless you!

Dear Lori,

Thank you so much for making my necklace. I was unable to afford one and was desperately in need of one in order to maintain my nursing relationship with my daughters. Your generosity has restored my faith in a rather selfish society. To say "Thank You", is not enough. Just know that you and your family are indeed a blessing.

Sincerely,

Karrie Carr

I want to thank Lori for making a wonderful beautiful necklace Cadence (my 5 week old) and me to use while nursing.  Cadence loves the bright colors and loves to hold it in her tiny hands. This necklace makes nursing a pleasant time for both of us. Her because of the bright colored necklace and I because I know that I am giving her the best.  Lori made this necklace free of charge for me and it is so beautiful. When I sent the email I had a detailed necklace that I wanted and she could have said that for the donated ones that they could only be like this or that, but she made it just how I wanted it. And I am truly pleased with it from the bottom of my heart I want to thanks her for understanding what it means to be down on your luck and not be able to afford something you want to make the breastfeeding bond stronger between baby and mother. And my reminder bracelet is wonderful now no more boobie fondling (lol most nursing moms know what I mean) to find out what side you nursed on last.

Thanks so much for our wonderful necklace,

                                                                                                                Beverly & Cadence Grace

Beverly sent me this a few months later:
Thanks so much for the  necklace if it had not been for it i don think that bfing would have lasted as long as it did thanks again.

Lori, I want to send out a great big THANK YOU for the beautiful nursing necklace you made for my son, Gabriel, and me! About a month ago, I was considering weaning because Gabriel was hurting me so much during nursing. He pulled out so much hair I had a bald spot where my widow's peak used to be. I truly believe that due to your incredible generosity, and the generosity of the women who donate to this cause, our breastfeeding relationship was saved. Gabe still goes for my hair, but I gently redirect him to the necklace, and he usually will start to inspect the animals and other beads instead. The hair on my widow's peak, I am happy to report, is now about an inch long!

The necklace is also useful when we have to go somewhere and Gabe doesn't want to stop playing. I put on the necklace and he lets me pick him up without a fuss, just to get to play with it.

Anyhow, thank you thank you thank you!

 Hi Lori,

I just wanted to thank you so very much for the wonderful personalized nursing necklace for my son Jack David and I that you made. It has made the bonding of breast feeding so much nicer. now instead of pinching and pulling my breast he enjoys the colorful necklace, and nurses much better. I was financially unable to give my son this, and you saved my breastfeeding relationship. Thank-you!
Enclosed is a picture of Jack loving his necklace.

I cant thank you enough. It is greatly appreciated!
And it got here so fast as well. I was amazed!

Thanks thanks thanks and thanks some more Lori!

Sincerly,
Heather & Jack Johnson
